Should trout in artificial ponds be fed during the winter?

Question by Orchard: Should trout in artificial ponds be fed during the winter? We have a very large, lined, pond with 175 trout that were fed everyday during the summer, there is not enough natural habitat to sustain them. Should they be fed during the winter when water temps are below 45 and their metabolism slows, or do they need to be continuously fed since that is what they are used to? What is best for both FISH and POND health? Best answer:
