How would I add a canister filter to my 55g aquarium?

Question by Stevus: How would I add a canister filter to my 55g aquarium? I currently have a 55g with an undergravel filter, power head, and air pump. It's a cichlid tank. They're pregnant right now and I would like to take my air pump out and use it for my 5g tank for the fry when they are hatched. Can I use the existing u/g filter with a canister filter and does it have to be reverse filtration? Best answer:

This may not answer your question but all the canister filters i have eheim, fluval and tetrat
