Do I need a canister filter and a protein skimmer for my tank?

Question by joe j: Do I need a canister filter and a protein skimmer for my tank? I'm starting up a 45 Gallon salt water tank, I'm not setting it up for a reef tank. Do I need a Magnum Canister Filter Pro and a protein skimmer? And also, do I need a power head ? Best answer:

salt water tanks and the fish in them require a lot more water movement than a fleshwater one so i think maybe it would be better if you had one and id go bigger than one size required for your tank will save some cleanning and
