what is a better fish tank filter - the Marineland BioWheel 250 or a Cascade 500 canister filter?
Question by Greg Gibson: what is a better fish tank filter - the Marineland BioWheel 250 or a Cascade 500 canister filter? I just got a used 55 gallon fish tank and it comes with a power filter that hangs on the back of the tank but it is extremely loud and doesn't appear to be that efficient. On my 39 gallon bow front tank I have a Cascade 700 canister filter with bio rings and activated carbon in the filter. One of the guys at the pet store suggested the bio-wheel because it will be a breeding / grow tank.
