Can you keep aquarium stands on the carpet?

Question by John Justice: Can you keep aquarium stands on the carpet? Can you keep aquarium stands on the carpet?, my friend says you have to peel away the carpet that the stand will be to make it balanced? All my tanks are on stands located on carpet. Best answer:

I think you could, but keep in mind that tanks must be leveled otherwise the tank could crack or leak because of stress. (Especially larger tanks, they must be on leveled ground.)
