Why wont my aquarium light bulb work?

Question by FlutterDash: Why wont my aquarium light bulb work? I just bought a 5 gallon starter kit today and put some old aquarium rocks in it so that the bacteria would go faster and put guppies in it and the light bulb will not I just bought it today. Put them light bulb in it and pushed the button on the hood the light will not turn on what so ever whats wrong? Is it the hood? I bought it at Walmart. Could the light bulb be bad? Best answer:
